felt like blogging today. was watching a documentary on national geographic yesterday about how the sensory organs in humans work to produce the perceptions that we have. of course, when i saw it listed in the program guide i have to watch it, psych geek that i am.
anyway, in the documentary, they mentioned that some scientists in Japan have invented this contraption that can control our movements. it looks just like a pair of headphones and they stimulate the vestibular system using mild electric shocks, which is the area responsible for balance, located in our ears. the scientist got 2 participants to wear them and controlled their movements using a handheld control just like that used for model aeroplanes. it's so cool!!!! although it's kinda scary cos you can just imagine what would happen if this falls into the wrong hands, but they promised that it's to help patients who've lost control of their movements or something like that so it's all good. good in da hood. hahahaha
still really full from a wonderful dinner though it produced a hole in my Mediterranean Fund. Anybody care to contribute? any amount is welcome. :)
roundtrip tickets to Istanbul for only SGD$1420!!!!!!!!
